T'duray, Lambangian Summit in Upi

Three days summit for the Teduray and Lambangian, a non-Islamized ethno-linguistic tribes mainly found in Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat provinces, held starting September 25 - 28, 2006 in San Isidro Formation Center, a Catholic Church center, in Nuro, Upi, Maguindanao.
The 3 summit tackled the sentiment and position of the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) on Ancestral Domain Claim
At 1:00 pm September 25, the opening and at day 2 a lecture on: “Update on how the T’duray and Lambangian Tribes participate in the going peace negotiation between the Philippine government and different evolutionary forces”. The resource speaker was Timuay Melanio U. Ulama, chairperson of OTLAC.
Timuay Abubacar Campong, Commissioner for Non-Muslim IPs, discussed “Tribal policy advocates strategy in interfacing the Indigenous Peoples Knowledge and System Practices”.
Timuay Alim Bandara, chairperson for TLADMADC, presented b\y power point the “Updates on the status of Ancestral Domains Processing, Titling and Delineating within the area of TLADMADC”.
On the day 3, Hon Fatima Kanakan, Deputy Governor for IP’s ARMM, presented the proposed bill to be sponsored by Assemblyman Jackson Bandila of RLA, and recieved by his representative Mr. Ding Karon, senior staff.
The MILF Peace Panel was invitedand sent two members of its Technical Committee namely, Atty. Faisal Abdul and Dr. Ben Dumato.
Members of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) headed by Malaysian B Gen Abdulrahman Zainal, said: "...the IMT shall remain committed to monitor the peace in Mindanao... Insha Allah.."
Major Julieto Ando PA, representiong the 6ID, delivered the the message of the Division.
The position paper was presented by Timuay Melanio Ulama to the visitors and a copy was for the media.
